Strabag is a construction company based in Austria and they recently successfully tested their asphalt paving technology on the A9 highway. The system for this new asphalt paving technology uses a special module to help autonomous control of the machine, and the machine has fiber optic cables with sensors. These sensors feed back information about the load in real time as the asphalt is being paved. The technology uses sensor technology developed by the Technical University of Darmstadt and MOBA, a German machine control company.
